Auto 4x4 Hub Help Needed
OK....When hubs are in the auto position they will not engage. If I turn the A/C on when the 4x4 selector switch is in 4x4 high my A/C blows out of the deforst vents. If I put the hubs in manual and lock them in and turn the selector switch to 4x4 high I get A/C out of the defrost but the 4x4 works. Can you help me work through my problem?

It's for replacing your ball joints, but shows you how to tear down the hub to replace the seals - just skip over the ball joint section. Also, it shows you a homemade seal driver. It's a cost effective, simple tool to make and keep around. Mine has come in handy on dozens of projects and different applications.
His method mentions using the driver to reinstall the axle w/ hub seal. I tapped it in and used the hub bearing assembly studs to pull it in completely. This seemed much easier than slamming it in with a BFH and prying the axle out when trying to install the c-clip on the end.
