A newer bed

Has anyone mounted an early-90's stepside bed to a late 70's F-series shortbed chassis? If so, does it look right?

I have seen a few 68-72 Chevy trucks running around with 88-9? Chevy stepside beds and they look decent. I was wondering if the Ford could pull it off too.

I'm interested in this too. I saw one at the junk yard, but my trouble is the gas filler location. My tank is in the rear and the 92 style bed has a side fill. Any ideas what to do?
