I am going to be pulling my 86 6.9 engine out and replacing it with a 7.3 powerstroke this fall/winter. I am looking for feelers what it is worth and if anyone is interested, so they can hear it run before pulled
86 6.9 N/A
160k
rebuilt injection pump
no blow buy or oil consumption
Good Oil pressure
O i also will be selling the t-19 trans(4wd) and the most likely the t-case
It's 24 y/o w/ 160k on it. Whoever buys it will want to go through the basics and tune it up. The majority of these trucks aren't even worth $2k. $500 is 1/4 the cost of a replacement truck. Figure the buyer will put another few hundred into the motor which approaches 1/2 the cost of a replacement truck. I'd say $500 is fair.
If it's out of an '86 and it's the stock motor, it'll have the beefed up block heater boss at the plug. I think they implemented this improvement around mid '85. I could be wrong though.
If I can get a good running cheap IDI any year model, I wanna do a quick weekend swap in my F150.... i`m sick and tired of getting 11mpg with a 6 cylinder....
Plus I miss my loud old diesel clatter during a 30 min warm up in the morning
