Yes!! just make sure you take the rubber gasket with it... actually they will work from 1973-1997.... although the 95-97 has the nicest latch mechanism...
haha, i would be more than game for a trade, but i think a drive to florida and back would cost significantly more than the $50 the junkyard said they would charge me for a window

All the Lightnings came factory with a slider at least from what I have seen. Why would you want to change it? Its cool to be able to open the window. Also since your a stereo guru, it helps with that too.
For the original question, yes get all the parts from the factory slider and it will swap in. You can also get an aftermarket like CR Laurence that will use the factory non slider gasket.

Ive seen a few Lightnings with solids.
I never use mine.
Rattles pretty bad with stereos.
Easy to break into.
