Rear sliding window...

So the previous owner of my truck somehow smashed out the rear window and had the glass replaced, but not the felt seal/edging on the glass.. It was taped up when I got it but a friend helped me fill the gap with foam weatherstripping so it doesn't leak. However the glass still doesn't slide.

Is that something I can buy from somewhere? I would just take the whole glass and all from the junkyard but I don't know how to get it out.

Thanks in advance

Places like LMC have them I believe, and the windows of these era trucks are easier than the older style. Any slider from '73-'96 will physically fit, but mid-'80s-up are the correct style and "easy". You remove the silver plastic trim from the rubber, then pull the lip of the rubber up and gently pry the glass and frame out. To reinstall you simply put the rubber on the body and pop the glass and frame back in. Keeping the rubber in place while reinstalling is the aggravating part, but I've done it a few times by myself before. An adhesive would make the process a lot easier.

Thanks, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. It's hard to describe so I tried taking some pics. It's 1am and I used my phone so they're not great.

LMC doesn't seem to have it, tasca says "Part Discontinued."

Do you guys know if the individual pieces of glass can be changed out without removing the whole thing?

If I remember correctly, they SHOULD slide away from each other to the end of the channel and then either with a gentle push, keep sliding... Or a slight push, lifting the glass straight up, pop out that way.

I'll have to give that a try next time I'm at the yard. I'll have to take another look at my window and see what exactly I need, whether it is just the trim on the sliding glass pieces or also the trim on the stationary ones..

Thanks
