I bought this new project and it has zero identification. That I can find at least... Thought if I threw some pictures to the experts here, you might be able to help out. I'm pretty sure that it is a 51. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Looks to be a 52. It does have the front hood trim from a 51. Hood can be from a 51 with 52 side trim added on. Can you post larger pictures?
Look for a VIN tag inside the glove box. The VIN should also be stamped on the right side frame rail around the front axle area. You'll likely need to wire brush that area to find it. If it is a 51, which is doubtful, look for another VIN tag to be affixed in the upper right corner of the firewall. If it's missing, then look for four holes. If it's a 52, this tag will be missing and you'll only see the depressions of the hole, but not punched all the way through.
Here's the difference between 51 and 52 shown in pictures.
1951 hood side trim
1952 hood side trim
1951 front view (note 3 openings in front of hood and trim; also note the location of V8 emblem).
1952 front view (note only 2 opening in front of hood and different trim; also note F-O-R-D letters in place where V8 trim went on 51).
cool looking project.
I would suggest you not spend a dime on your new project until you get the vin number and title fixed. Some on here can tell you after they spent a ton of money on their projects they had great issues getting a title if they even could get one.
I would want the title in my hand before I sent another dime on it.
Just my opinion.

Cant answere your question but sure like the cool vintage Chopped project!!! 48-52 somewhere between there anyway..... if there arent no Id on the truck anywhere it shouldnt be hard to find a "Donor" door somewhere to make it into something .... correct me if I am wrong but I assume thats where they secured the tag on that era Ford trucks also??
Thaks guys! I appreciate the info. There will be a donor truck underneath it. All my reg will be put under the vin of the frame and running gear. Most likely will be a '05/'06 Ford F150 4x4. It will take a little doing but it'll be worth it! I'll see if I can post some larger pics.
Thanks
In Kansas, I think you can get a title on a 50 year old vehicle if you have a bill of sale. They check that it isn't reported stolen and then issue the title. At least that was the policy a few years ago.
It was done I think to help people title and save old vehicles that had be sitting in a shed or where the original owners were long gone with no way to go back to get a title. Now, I haven't tried this for a few years, so the law may have changed.
The down side is you have to have liability insurance and the vehicle inspected to get the title.
All states are a little different on how they handle this.
The 48 F5 in my signiture was titled with only a bill of sale, but it wasn't and isn't running and I didn't want to purchase insurance for a future project, so I just applied for a off road title. If I get it road worthy, I'll have to take for inspection and apply for an on road title.
Thanks Husker, title and reg shouldn't be a problem. I'm in canada and the truck is in the states. Since I'm not going to be using the original frame and motor, just the body of the vehicle. It will be classified as parts entering Canada and when I go to insure and register upon completion, the truck will be registered as the main portion of the vehicle. The newer F150 truck hiding underneath the F100.
Also has F2-F6 front fenders. It's a toss up as to what year it is without knowing the VIN. Could be a 51 with a 52 F2-F6 frong clip and hood side molding, or a 52 with 52 F2-F6 front clip and a 51 hood with 52 hood side moldings.
love chopped tops i will taking 3" outta mine when i get around to paint and body work.
