I'm no expert on engines, nor on oil. Disclaimer over.
If you still have the bottles, switch it out with some 5W 40 and use the old oil in all of your other stuff that takes oil-snowblowers, tractors, etc. If you haven't put many miles on it, put it back in this spring.

Excellent advice. Not like you "hurt" the oil in a week.
Depends on how cold it gets..... if it doesn't get below freezing (wherever you are), I wouldn't worry about it. If it's only 15*F, I wouldn't worry too much. Got a place to plug it in?
You might want to switch to a 0w if it gets that cold. I am in AK and running T6 rotella 5w but I'm in anchorage so our coldest temps are around -10. That being said it is starting to get col here as well, I can defiantly tell the difference in the 5w as apposed to the 15w.
More than likely, this truck will see -40F... I'm in Canada
If you will be seeing 40 below, I think it would be a good idea to go down to Canadian Tire and get some 0w-40. It will idle very rough for a while on 15w 40 at that temperature.
shell rotella year round .if your in -20 below or more ,plug it in for at least 2 hours.that's a 6.0 ,if it's a 7.3 ,same oil but leave it pluged in overnight
I run the Motorcraft 10W-30 year round with no issues, as the ford dealer recommends. I always plug it in though. It makes for smoother starts and I assume it's easier on the motor. I was wondering about using synthetic but I usually do my oil changes around 5, 000KM (3,000 miles). Perhaps a bit short of oil changes, but I have always believed that oil is the life blood of an engine. And since I don't use synthetic I do them closer together than recommended. The dealership says to do oil changes every 8,000 km (5,000 miles)
I just put in some REVX and it definitely made a difference. The truck runs a bit quieter on start-up. Less ticking.
From Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. We often have a few weeks of -20ºF if not more with windchill. Brrrrrrr!
If you only drain out 1/2 or 7 quarts of your 15W-40, you will still have 7 plus the 4 that never drain out for nearly 3 gallons of 15W-40 to go with about 2 gallons of whatever you put in.
