Well no clutch noise for 3 days in a row. Doesnt make any sense as we had clear clutch sounding, bearing noise and i has stopped. Garage i found doesnt want to work on it untill they can hear the noise for themselve. I understand that.
So any thoughts or advcie? I guess all i can do is keep driving untill noise comes back? I was concerend becasue we think it is the pilot bearing, i dont want to create more damage. But id like to think if it is not makeing noise that it reallly cant hurt?
thanks Joe
I guess im in the ball park for the price of the clutch repair. But if i can ask what type of symptoms did you get with your bearing failure? Did it seem to go all at once? The noise for a week and then stop has me a bit stumped. Joe
When letting up on the clutch pedal (engaging the clutch), it sounded like a can full of marbles - lots of ratteling sounds. I thought it was the throwout bearing, but the shop said it was actually the pilot bushing/bearing that had failed.
Bought the truck that way and drove it 2k miles or so prior to the work.
