It just looked so even but it didn't make sense. It was the bad motor I took out of my 65. is there any reason not to scrap the block it is a 65 casting but that doesn't seem to be rare so I guess it's one less thing to stumble over in the shop.
That usually happens when the C clip or lock is incorrectly installed. The side that is slightly rounded goes towards the pin end with the square side to the piston. It can also happen if the last builder used a C clip over.
