I think whats going on is the diesel is running down form the o-rings and sitting in the thread hole. Just my thought

right i see what you mean but why the bubbles, that shouldnt be happening. It means air or something is escaping from the injector bore. Shouldnt be happening. Id crank each one down 1/4 turn to see if that stops it. Either way, orings need replacing if they are leaking.

When I cranked my engine the other day it was night, so i couldnt really tell what was going on so today i got off early with plenty of day light left. It smokes badly and i smell raw diesel. I cleaned my return lines and they are still dry so i guess it was the diesel from priming it. But why is it smoking so bad do i need new injectors?????

just because they are not leaking fuel dont mean they are not letting air in

after the truck sits over night take the fuel filter off and see if its full that will be a good indicator of air intrusion

If it's not full, then what? All of my friends tell me it's the injector, but why would they go bad if I wasn't having any problems before. Also I test drove it and the power just doesn't seem like it's there. Maybe it's just me.

if its not full then your getting air intrusion somewhere for sure.when you pull the filter fill it up with diesel kleen and run it for 10 seconds or so and let it sit for a while that will clean the fuel system up a bit

i will also tell you the added stress of new injectors will possibly cause the injection pump to crap out on you if its original as well.the difference in mileage and power will be night and day though
