Lift question

Got a 2000 limited 7.3 4x4 and want to get a lift to fit at least 37" tires. Can someone give me some advice on what is the most affordable, best and mid range suspension lift I might look into?

Thanks!

Well, best i dont know about that one, but I have 37's on a 6" skyjacker all spring lift. Its a little bumpy though. I am sure others will chime in, your budget is the limit. I saw on ebay an all airbagged out excursion that had adjustable lift from stock to 10". My skyjacker would pale in comparison though. I dont see how anything less than 6" could work. There's a jarhead on here that has a red X with a 5" rough country lift. It looks like you could stuff 37's under. Try a search..lots of info on lifts for X's.

IB your fitting 37"s under 6inches. You must rub cause I barely clear 35's w 6inches when turning into inclined driveways or parking lots. How are you clearing 37's. I would say minimum of 8" lift with at least 410 gearing to turn those large tires.

I saw the ruff country & I don't like the idea of blocks in the rear, I really don't want over 6" lift so if I had to stay @35" I'd be OK with that. "ts a little bumpy though." does this translate to squirrly on the road?
Thanks for all your input. As for budget, I'd just like to get the most for my money!!

TexasTuff,
I did a v b code spring swap with a 4.5" ICON hanger kit. Went with 6 bilstien shocks. The ride is very good and still able to tow. Total lift is about 6.5" this way and easily clears 35's. I think it would clear 37's with some trimming. Probably cost a little more but worth it in my opinion.

I am not rubbing to the best of my knowledge. Maybe I have diff backspacing or something. Also I have original 3.73 gears...works great for me..i do a lot of highway for commuting purposes. I figure the 3.73's and 37's at highway speed is why I am able to get 19mpg ( a little over). Not trying to sell it here but it is on fleabay right now..take a look at my setup. My front bumper gives plenty of room too for the 37's.

Read between the lines in the ebay ad:
If you buy my truck I will hunt you down and kill you!

Nice rig - I'd feel the same way

The v and b code springs are what Ford put in some of the F250 and F350. You can probably find a lot of info on this if you do a search. The ride is great. Handles better than stock and is not at all harsh. Still able to tow at max capacity.

Ah now is see why you dont rub. Your bumper allows the clearance. In a normal situation those 37's would definately rub. When i turn i clear by about 1/2 inch from bumper. But then again back spacing is a major factor too.
By the way that rig looks great. Why are you selling her.
