I really need crossmember help
Okay so I attempted to install my transfer case tonight. Discovered my existing CM is for a divorced transfer case. It is a 73 which I believe had a 4 speed. So I'm putting in a 460 with married transfer case.
There is a CM that goes right underneath the trans pan and another that the trans mounts to about 12inches back or so.
I'm thinking the front one is going to have to be removed all together and I'm planning on taking one out of a 78 4x4 that is acts as structure for the frame while also supporting the trans. This one will lower the rear about 3 inches as far as I can tell. Sounds good but I'm concerned the fan will be tilted up quite a bit.
Does anyone have a pic of a 73-75 with an married transfer case installed?
It would be nice to know this will work before I go through a bunch of work.
