Thinking about Putting a new Clutch in Mine as well, Doesnt Feel like there is much left! Three Quarters of the pedal has nothing.. Not to mention it makes a weird noise taking off in 1st or 2nd, like to pieces off medal rattling together. Is it pretty hard to do a Clutch Kit?
Dual Mass Flywheel. A very stupid design Ford used from the factory.
Go to Valair for your clutch and a single mass flywheel (SMF). Very good prices and great service. Tell them that Cody from Death Row Diesel sent you and you can get a discount. Cody is a member here (Rubberduck).

here is my article on DMF's.
Mostly speculation
but the DMF has been around since the 60/70's.
Chevy, ford and dodge have all used variations of this.
Valair is an all american made product. It's not the cheapest, but your getting what you pay for. You can buy more expensive stuff also, but price/quality and their customer service is the best i've ever seen.
I don't tell people to name drop Cody's name for a discount, cause I'm not Cody, and thats his choice to extend that offer.
But, you can feel free to name drop me to Dan, Just tell him William from Michigan. He knows who I am, I talk to him often.
If you cannot get Dan, talk to Gary.
If you want to do your own clutch, its pretty easy if you take your time and know how to drop a transmission. I had no idea what I was doing the first time, but I had somebody who did know what they were doing to help me, and it worked out pretty good.
