Brought the truck home and it's going to need some work. Why can't I post pics?

Good start

Grandpa gave this thing to my 16 year old son. He is really stoked and it should be a great learning experience for him (and me).

Frame stripped and painted

The frame was stripped with a pressure washer, and sand blaster. We sprayed epoxy primer on the bare metal, then POR 15 chassis coat black. Came out nice. Chassis coat is a nice satin finish

Cab needs floors

The floor pans were rusted, big surprise. LMC truck and a few hours later. Funny, I watched them do it on the show "trucks" and it only took 30 mins

Cab bottom

We scraped and stripped the cab bottom. Not sure sure what that **** was, but it laughed at everything but the torch. Stripped the bottom, epoxy primer, and Raptor Liner. Spray on bed liner type stuff from Car Quest, works great and comes in 4 quarts per box, so you only have to use what you need.

I left the patch panels big and set them into the hole that was left when I removed the rusted pans. Then I screwed them down to the original floor at the overlap. When I got them where I liked them, I cut through both new and old with my 4" cut off wheel. I cut a few inches and welded a few inches. They came out pretty clean. I had to make several splice cuts in all the corners so I could shrink the new pan and expand the original floor to make then match up. A blind man on a fast horse will never see it.
I'm going to get my suspension today. 2" drop in the front and about 3 in the rear.
I put up some pics when I get it on.

I got the suspension back and put a couple coats of chassis black on them.
