4" should be enough, with the right backspaced wheels

It depends on how much tire space you want and clearance while turning your wheels. It think 35s and 4inch is some what of a good combo, 38s maybe 5 1/2 - 6 inches. It depends on your taste on how you want your truck to look like.

I am running 38" with BDS 6" lift and still get some tire rubbing..I trimmed the bumper, and dont want to get into cutting the truck up, i'd like to see the 40's with a 4" lift..not saying you can't or it doesnt look good, i just can't picture it

my bumper and fenders are trimmed a little bit.
im a lil short. i dont want to have to carry a step ladder with me though so i dont wanna lift too much but do need to clear the tires (if i get them)
