Yeah i dont have the manual so that why i was hopen you guys would know, and should i do a hole drain with filter or just a flush with the pan and a filter, because right now its shifting a little ruff
The 4X4 has a slightly deeper tranny pan & a filter with a longer neck, so it'll stay immersed when off roading at steep angles. SO, make sure you get the right filter, pan gasket & fluid.
Capacity is 10-10.3 qts, depending on if it's a 4X2, or 4X4 & if it has an aux tranny cooler, so get a 12 qt case of multi-vehicle, Motorcraft Mercon-V licensed fluid.
I agree that with the tanny shifting acting out, that a pan drop, filter change, then continuing on with a full tranny fluid pumpout would be best, as the pan drop will allow you clean it & the magnet & to get a better idea of whats going on in there in the way of deposits & the full fluid pumpout will get most all of the old fluid out of the valve body, torque converter, cooler & lines.
alright, and yes its 4x4, But how do i pump out the old oil, and how much money am i looking at for a full flush on the trany, or could i get away with a semi flush with the pan and filter.
