well got home from a long day at the railyard today. had to replace traction motors on the locomotive. but got home and my moms explorer just got tires done today. she said it never did this till she got it back. but when ever she would turn the wheels left or right the steering wheel and tires would shake and shutter really bad. took it back to the shop and of course it wouldnt do it. what could cause her wheels and steering wheel to shake so much when she turns?
Does it have automatic four wheel drive (where it turns on it by itself if it thinks it needs to)? what year is it? They might have damaged one of the speed/ABS sensors located at each wheel.... that can cause it to jump in and out of 4 wheel drive.
its automatic 4 wheel and 2002 is the year. they replaced the passenger side hub as well. she said it shook the whole car once. and it shakes when she turns whether she is moving or not. but a speed/ abs sensor can do that? and how?
When turning , or when turning with the brakes on ?
Also , did she get 4 tires ?..
just 2 today but she said it did it 3 yrs ago when she first bought it and went away till just today. the guy sent it out that she bought it from and had the ps serviced. and it shakes when she is turns moving or sitting still. never paid attention when brakes were on so cant say
If it does it while sitting still then disregard my first post. the wheel sensor I was talking about can cause the computer to think that a wheel is slipping and cause the 4 wheel to kick in and out... causing the vehicle to " jump"
