Wheel back spacing
Can anyone tell me the correct wheel backspacing on FORD factory wheel on a 1970 F-100? I have a chance to by some 16x8 wheels to put on my truck, but the backspacing is 4" and the seller is telling me I may have to use a 3/8 spacer behind the front wheels. Does this sound correct ?

Whatever you do, do not use a spacer! 3" backspacing on the 15x6 wheels I have. Factory Ford rims are usually a 50/50 split on the backspacing, fwiw.
You have about 4.5 inches of room for the backspacing of the tire and rim combo.
On 16x8 rims, a tire 9 inches wide might not hit anything.
