Just pulled the truck in to test the glow plug, real fun getting it started today at 12 degrees with ten inches of snow on it. anyways opened the hood to find the right valve cover covered in fuel and a pretty good puddle of fuel around the second glow plug. what do you recommend for finding this leak. Starting it and watching for where it might be coming out??
Just talk to a buddy and he says that we can braze my fuel line. Is that a good idea or not. I called around and a new is $68 from ford and it is a week out.
I could be wrong but it sounds more like you have bad return lines or O rings, I would recommend getting a new return line kit and trying that first.
If 1 of the fuel lines is bad then pay the 68 bucks and save your self alot of headaches. I prefer to replace every part I can with new parts, its the old "pay now or really pay later theory" at work for me.
the only bad part is it from the number one cylinder so the line goes to the bottom of the ip. I have now idea how to even start. i talked to the local international dealer and they said drive it down and they would show me. i will start with that tomorrow right after my goose hunt. I tested seven of the gp's today with all being ok.. Is there any easy way to get to the last one that is under the turbo with removing the turbo??
i can wait. i am actually leaving for a hunting trip friday and have cut all my wood for the year so i don't have to drive it for a few weeks if that is what it takes. i do like driving it better than my other vehicles though, so the sooner the better.
