Good morning everybody! Sorry to start off my first post with a question, but after reading this forum for a few weeks now, it seems to be filled with good and knowledgeable people.
I own a 2003 Ford F-250 4WD with the 7.3L diesel. The front brakes need replacing and my question is, are the original pads (front and/or the rear) ceramic or semi-matallic? I was thinking of replacing the front rotors with the Brembo rotors. Anybody have any experience with this brand? Likes / dislikes..........
I keep waiting for mine to need replaced. I personally an going to go with the factory pads they have taken me to 90k so far and dont need replaced. Im not sure on the materials they are made out of.
How many miles are you at now? and is the factory pads your replacing.
They are original pads with 106K on them. The problem is the front rotors are warped so I'm going to replace them and install new pads. I know the ceramic pads don't 'dust' as much, and the semi-metallic pads probably stop better but may be not so good for the rotor life. Was just wondering what was used originally and will replace with equivalent.
I replaced all rotors and pads at around 100,00 they were OEM. Front rotors were warped. I replaced all with power slot cyros. It was a site and info I got from here. I used Hawk pads on the front and borg warner from Oreillys on rear. Contact this guy partsguyed he is OEM. It is at the top of this page.
