I also have an Aeroturine on mine, but I don't have the one with the resonator. It is coupled with a straight thru Diamond Eye muffler. I get no noise in the cab from the exhaust, but if I roll the windows down and drive by the concrete guard rail, I can hear a nice rumble.

I'm another who pulled the 6637 off and went back to my AIS.

I have a 4" Magnaflow exhaust and there is no noticeable sound difference with or without the Magnaflow muffler while just cruising along. I miss the mean sound it made when mashing the skinny pedal without muffler but I'm leaving the muffler on. I do more cruising then pedal mashing.

Yeah, please don't take my man card. I just got the truck and I LOVE it. I just like my wife and kids, too, and they don't enjoy the cab noise from the current set-up. I like pbr's approach- quiet on the inside, and roll down the windows to hear that pleasant diesel rumble.

Thanks for all the ideas, I will be putting on the 6637 to see what I think. the Ford AIS may be a possible solution. Hopefully the kid's college funds will survive this obsession...

These trucks do not usually 'drone' with any exhaust out there. You should check for a loose hangar and perhaps an exhaust pipe that is in contact with the body or frame.

Are you sure it the original muffler? The original were oval shaped and rather large, most aftermarket mufflers are round.

I'm not too sure about the "most guys" part; yes many say they want louder, but there are many more of us who value our hearing.

Take it from a 54 year old vet who few in one of the noisiest aircraft we had (the KC-135A), and who now has hearing loss & tinnitus, quiet is what you want AND need! Loud noise will make one irritable, and in a worst case scenario, make you pass out.
