Help with parts.

Hi,
Not sure if I'm in the right forum...fellars get quite lumpy if one posts stuff in the wrong places. So here goes...

I'm looking for a 1967-1972 F100 part. I have been looking around on all the various truck part sites(Dennis Carpenter, LMC, Autokrafters, Blue Oval Truck Parts, Bronco graveyard) and had no luck in locating the part.

I'm looking for the coverplate that is riveted(?) to the dashboard and covers the top half of the steering column bracket, as pictured below.

I have had a go at a very reputable F100 second hand parts dealer, but after four e-mails still couldn't establish an undertstanding, whether they have the part or not.

Can anyone help? I live in New Zealand, so consider shipping, et cetera.

Thanks!

1967/72: There are three different types. What year, series is the truck? 2WD or 4WD? With or without P/S?

No one reproduces it, as the demand is slim and none. The only chances of finding one are either NOS or used.

I think you might be interested in this item on Ebay. Not sure if it's what you're after or not.

I am sure he is asking about the colume cover, it is bolted not riveted and the ebay listed item is more than likely what he is after.

The part the OP is refering to is the painted cover atop the steering column that butts up against the dash.

There are three different types listed in the parts catalog.

Since the OP hasn't responded, I haven't a clue which one he needs.

They may all look the same, but looks can be deceiving.

Yep, it is indeed that cover plate that goes over the top of the column.

Found the one Phil105 referred to on eBay. Thanks for the replies...

Now here's a question and it didn't occur to me at the time: What is it made out of? Aluminium or steel. I would assume it is aluminium, because of the casting burrs.

The reason I am asking is that the column is angled slightly to the left (as on American left-hand drive vehicles) and my truck is a right-hand drive vehicle, which means the column is angled to the right and I might have to do some minor modifications on the coverplate for it to work...and look right.

Um, in case "angled to the left" is confusing...inspect the coverplate of your truck and you will notice the left is shorter than the right.
