Possibly a 1964 ranger?
Where are you at here in spokane?
Ford backed the project but it was NOT done at the Ford factory.
naysayers my azz

Contrary to what anyone may believe here is FACT.
The XL was contracted by FOMOCO to DST.
The XL was raced in numerous national events by ford motor company through a west coast dealer then transferred east to Jack Whitby ford in Wilmington Delaware.
The XL left the line with no engine in place.
The VIN for the XL is missing the letter for engine. and is a incomplete VIN on the frame and warranty plate. Therefore it is a factory experimental and not legal to be sold under the federal laws at the time.
It has a DSO code designating it "Home office Reserve"
I personally pulled apart the seats for part #s on the XL and the seats are 1963 falcon sprint along with the console.
The current owner received the truck with a Delaware title from Jack Whitby ford in Wilmington Delaware. He was awaiting a thunderbolt and took the truck in stead.
Bill was visited by Ford Motor Company in 1965 at his farm. They wanted their truck back! As Bill had a legal title from the state, And Jack Whitby was not authorized to sell it they had a bit of a standoff. The solution was a contract for "First right of Refusal". This contract is still in effect to this day if Bill attempts to sell the truck.
Simply put before Bill can legally sell it it must be offered to FOMOCO to purchase. One must ask oneself why would Ford want something back they did not build?
This is all documented also by the fine folks at Legendary Ford Magazine which did a article on Bill and the truck.

There is no parts catalog reference for any 1964 Ranger parts, the 1964 sales brochure I bought has no info on them.
1962/63 and thru 12/1964, I was a partsman at Ralph Williams Ford in Encino CA, which at that time was the largest selling Ford Dealer on the planet.
If anyone would have had any of these so-called 1964 Rangers, it would have been Ralph.
I never saw one on the lot and I was planning on buying a new truck, so I looked at as many as possible. In March 1965, after I changed jobs, I bought a new 1965 F100 Standard Cab 352, with O/D.
Where were you when these trucks were new?
If I'm wrong, I admit it...but I'm not wrong very often, despite your BS claim that I am wrong many times.
Over the years i have seen alot of cars and trucks that did not so call"exist". If you were a big wheel at ford im sure you could get what you want. There were alot of shows and previews that special cars andtrucks were built (copo) that you wouldn't have seen standing behind the parts counter at 1 dealership.
Bill,
I have found you are almost never wrong on the stock factory stuff and are a gold mine of information for this. However when we delve in to the one offs and odd ball stuff is where it gets vauge as Ford may not have placed the combinations in the parts pipe line system as they were just that a one off and not worth the update or print.
The true way to tell a factory truck if it came with buckets is that it will have the seat bracket reinforcement bosses for the inner bracket. If these are just a drilled hole it is not a true factory equipped ranger or sport or anything. Ford engineering required them to be in place, and it would not have ever been allowed to leave the line without them.

If people have no factory literature of any kind (parts catalogs, sales brochures, owners manuals, accessory brochures, salesman's data books, ad nauseum), how would they know whether something was rare, odd ball or factory?
Most members of FTE have none of this jazz and are either going by what someone else claims, what they've seen on a 40 + year old truck (which in most cases has had multiple owners, so the part(s) might/might not be correct), or are clueless and are just agreeing with "the crowd."

What is the verdict on this ebay truck right here before our eyes? This unicorn is looking right at us. It really looks to be all aged the same and in equal disrepair. The seller is giving all the info he can on this. Does any of it break down to anything?
The seller is not claiming the truck to be a sport version or a ranger. He does not even focus on the interior pics in his sale. I see know reason for him to not be sincere in what he says.
I just looked at the ad again and noticed that it even has the zippered map pocket in the door.

The zippered pockets were introduced in 1963, were an option on: 1963/66 F100/1100's, 1963/69 N/NT500/1000's and 1967/69 F800/1000's.
The pockets did not come with any package, were also available at the parts counter (its plastic chrome surround moulding was sold separately) and also fits 1961/62 F100/1100's.
Reproduced by bobdrake.com, available in black only. I called Drake a coupla months ago, asked if just the moulding could be purchased. His answer was no, not available by itself.
The pockets can be found used, but the chrome flakes off the plastic moulding. Finding one with decent chrome and/or without dings or cracks can be difficult.

I was a Ford partsman when these trucks were brand new. I have the part catalogs, and a 1964 sales brochure I bought after the last time someone claimed the truck was available.
ND, You always have to go on some tangent of you did this you did that and if anyone would know it would be you and the PARTS CATALOG is the end all of all discussions. For some reason if YOU have not heard of a certain vehicle being built it simply does not exist because YOU are the know it all of all things Ford. The Ranger or Sport package truck that is this post did in fact leave the factory with bucket seats and a console. Whats so hard to believe on that? Just because YOU have not seen one does not mean its not possible to exist! PERIOD! Can you explain the 6 digit special order DSO then? Did not think so... LOL

So just because the sales brochures that YOU have see do not show a 1964 Ranger it does not exist? Who has said it is in fact a RANGER? Call it what you want but it was factory with BUCKET SEATS. At that time it was a Sport Package but so what if someone calls it a Ranger like the 65-66 Trucks.
Same thing when the lady bought a new F250 RANGER you said, NOPE did not happen as a lady would not be able to buy it on her own, another TANGENT of how it was not possible. Turns out the story was true...But not YOUR story.

Evidently RALPH was not as up as you think he was if he did not sell a 1964 Bucket seat F100 in 1964 because they WERE built.
Tell me this: How many Mercury Capri's were built with a "R" code 425hp 427 & a 4spd? But again if RALPH did not have one they did not exist?
How about your quote "No falcons came with Holley carbs" You never did admit you were wrong on that one.

Where were you when these trucks were new? Most likely riding in one on my way to the bank! Or maybe out to the hunting camp with the truck hauling our go karts or scooters or maybe just out for a Picnic...
If I'm wrong, I admit it...but I'm not wrong very often, despite your BS claim that I am wrong many times.

And last off, I am not saying by any means you do not give out valuable information or help out a bunch of people usually daily, just that you really are not the know it all you think you are. You have made comments that others do not know 1% of what you know etc. A bit thick headed?
