Maybe it had old gas, wich won't help you start the truck, dump all the gas and replace it with fresh gas, change the fuel filter also, hit the fuel tank a couple of times firmly (maybe the pump got stuck for the lack of use), check the lines and fuel pressure (it should be near 39 PSI), check the pigtail connector to the pump if it's an electrical one. if nothing else works, or you still get no pressure, swap the fuel pump.
You could also seafoam the lines in order to clean them, good luck.
I don't see how hitting the fuel tank would help anything, seeing as how the the fuel pump is located on the drivers side front of the engine . Fuel pressure should be around 7 PSI (Much higher and it will just push the needle of the seat in the carb.)
Classic case of "it couldn't hurt". Check for pressure in the line from the pump to the carb. while cranking the engine... take the necessary precautions though please. Wouldn't hurt to visually check for fuel being introduced into the throttle bores when the throttle is cycled either. Lacking pressure in the line to the carb the pump is suspect. No fuel when dumping the throttle could be filter (assuming it is inline between the carb) or a myriad of possible carb issues.
Have you used starting fluid or anything else to run it? Maybe take the line loose at the pump and blow air into the tank to see if you can get gas up there.
Take the line off the fuel pump that goes to the fuel tank.
Hook up a spare fuel line to the fuel pump inlet into a spare gas tank. The fuel pump will pump fuel out of that tank and not the fuel in the Bronco tank that might be bad.
If the fuel pump sucks the fuel then it's not bad and you can look at the line going up to the carb and if the gas is sprayed into the intake manifold when the accelereator is pushed down then you have gas to the carb.
Then check for spark/timing.
probably has 171,000 on it, maybe even 271,000 but I doubt that.
