Different transmissions have different linkages, do you know what trans you have? If not tellus what truck you're working on and describe where the linkage hooks to the trans and wich side its on
I think the c4 is the same as my c6, it just has an E clip that holds the kickdown linkage on, are you talking about the shifter linkage? (the one that selects P R N D...) that one just ppops loose, it has a ball socket joint. You need to pry pretty hard to pop it loose.
I need to replace the peice on the tranny that shifts the tranny into gear. The link below is easy to see it is the chrome peice on the tranny located by the white sticker.
The tranny in the pic is a C4. The C6 is similar.
There are 2 levers.
The one on the outside should be the kickdown. it is held on with a small C clip that easily pops of with a small screwdriver.
The inside lever is the main shift lever wich is tied to the linkage that goes up the firewall and into the column shifter. This lever is pressed onto the shaft.
drop the pan, filter, and valve body....pretty much take the bottom part of trans apart. Be careful of all the tiny pieces and parts, and remember where everything goes.
Borg Warner T-10 4 speed manual = 1961/65 PassengerCars only.
Your "About Me" profile says: 1984 F150: Depending on the application, could have a C5 (11 trans pan bolt holes); AOD (14 trans pan bolt holes); C6 (17 trans pan bolt holes).
Therer are two levers outside the case. Manual control lever & Kickdown lever. These parts are specific to each trans type and to the year of the vehicle.
