Question 30K service

Question for anyone here in the know, or a Ford service guy hopefully. I dropped my '09 F-150 off this morning for its oil change and the 30K service. On the mailer I received from the service dept it says that the coolant isn't changed until 105k, but the gentleman with the clipboard says it's due now. What gives?

The "gentleman with the clipboard" just wants more of your money.

Thanks.

John is correct.

For fun,

1. ask the "gentleman with the clipboard" to point his web browser to https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...les/Getymm.asp

2. then ask him to explain the discrepancy between his recommendation and the manufacturer's service recommendations.

Yeah, this is good info. It matches what they sent me in the coupon mailer. On the back it has a chart by mileage for what is to be performed. Thanks for this info. Link saved.

most service writers are not hourly, but some sort of base plus commision on service sales. this over selling is done all the time.

This is why it pays to be a savvy consumer and to be more knowledgeable about your truck than the fella who is arranging the service.
