I have a 91' F-150 5.8l V8. About two weeks ago I went out one Monday morning to start my truck, it had sat over the weekend without being started. When I tried to start it, the engine would turn over but would not start (the Friday before I had no problems with it). Since the temperature had gotten down pretty cold over the weekend I thought my battery had lost its charge. After slow charging over 8 hours I still could not get the engine going. After this I bought a new battery and still nothing. The next day I had my wife turn the key while I looked under the hood to see if I could notice anything. Of course then the engine turned over twice and fired right up! I got in and drove the truck down the road and noticed that the engine was running rough. During accelerating, the vibration was noticeably worse. I have since changed spark plug wires and have cleaned and regapped the spark plugs, but the engine still rides rough. If the problem had slowly happened over time I might have some ideas, but this seemed to occur overnight.
