Shifting issues
I have a 4R55E problem I cant figure out if I need a whole new transmission or what.
Problem.... Once pickup is in gear it will not shift from 1st to 2nd unless you get rpm to 2200 to 2500 rpm. Once you let off the gas it shift smoothly to second then after that no problems with any other gears. Occasionally when the transmission needs to downshift it does but then starts to slip a little and the the check engine light comes . The weird thing baou this is that if you tuen off the truck then restart it youatart back at square one, but no flashing dash lights.
When I took it in to get looked at the mech stated that the transmission break used to slow down the trasmission speed while downshifting was broke.....this doesnt explain why it wont shift from 1 to 2 though without revving it..... Do I need a new transmission or can I replace silinoids and brake??
