I don't know what it weighs but scrap was bringing $11.50 per 100lbs at the local crushing yard on friday..Thats why I was even considering the scrapping option to recoupe part of my money.. I would part it out but its in my way as one peice not to mention it in 1000 peices..

 

Say what? No way is a scrap yard paying over $1000 for a truck. There are several price points for steel, prepared and unprepared being the norm. Vehicles are under a LOWER price point considering the plastics, rubber, etc that has to be dealt with.

But if it isn't costing any money to have it sit,, then list it for free in Craigslist and other online classifieds, what do you have to lose?

check online bout listing vehicles for free for free an do you have a adbulletin or local trader in your area list it in it. Is it sitting out in the open were other people can see it? If so put a for sale sign in it. An you said it is in a thousand pieces right now?

 

No its a complete driving truck. Thats why I don't want to part it out is because I don't want all the parts sitting in the way..

 

Gawd, Someone would love to have that truck!! I think it would be cool to put a Dually bed on it-kinda make an over-size pickup!! Way Cool truck! DON'T SCRAP IT!!!!!!!!!

 

I would think that a truck that runs on ALTERNATIVE FUEL would be a good selling point.

 

I still say...send me the doors.

 

I talked to a paint and body guy about just going ahead and painting it and getting a new windshield and then it would be in nice shape. I found a flat bed for it for $300 so it looks like I'm gonna be able to refurbish it and still have less than $3500 in it. Then maybe somebody will want it.. Thanks for all of the advice..

No kidding, around here (western washington) the "green appeal" would be a huge selling point. Also, you probably know this, but propane is extremely low emissions (compared to gasoline) and that engine will be in great shape, a propane powered engine doesn't wear out nearly as fast as a gasoline one. I'd bet the oil in that thing looks brand new. I think your heading in the right direction, new paint, a flatbed and you should be able to find a home for that truck pretty easily.
