They said it was the 10th cylinder?? Is that 4k installed? I'm in Tampa and I'm looking all over for another 2nd opinion because I really don't want to go truck shopping since I have it how I like it ....except for the ticking. The service manager was surprised when I told him this morning on the phone that I would be by later to pick it up. He said they didn't even want to drive it out off the lot because it was 'so far gone'. I think I'll go there and see what they will give me to trade it in on a new/used one....j/kidding. I wouldn't drive anything else (truck-wise) except for an excursion because I've been driving them for 10 years now (2nd Exc).
Just hard to find somebody to do it that I can trust and also get a warranty.
Anybody got any ideas for local (Tampa) installers?

That price doesn't include labor, just a Ford reman long block with the warrenty. With some looking you can find used V10s from a wrecked truck for far less money however they usually come with little to no warrenty and you have to find a shop willing to install it.
It sounds like the description they gave you is somewhat vague to say the least. I would try to get a second or even third opinion also.
