72 crew cab vin

Hi all,
How can I tell from the vin whether the truck was a crew cab?
I'm going to go look at a 72 crew tomorrow, so I would like to be able to confirm the truck's credentials...

You can't. There are no codes within the VIN or on the Warranty Plate that decode to a Crew Cab.

The 11 digit VIN has the 3 digit series code (like F25), the 1 digit engine code, 1 digit assembly plant code and the 6 digit serial number.

Most 1965/72 Crew Cabs were assembled at the Oakville, Ontario Canada Assembly Plant, 5th digit of the VIN: C

The MODEL code listed on the Warranty Plate will decode (depending on what it is) to either a 2WD or 4WD, to a pickup or a Cab & Chassis.

Thanks Bill.

That's kind of what I thought, but wanted to know for sure!
