Bill just posted a new video on you tube. he is selling a high coolant temp alarm, now that I know what's going on with the 6.0, he sounds like a schister. Stay away from his crap.

Read post #33 of this thread, to give you a better idea of what other techs' opinions are of him:

That's funny. We've been telling people this allllll along but some people refuse to listen. The FTE community has a HUGE amount of knowledge and experience to draw from and we try to give the best advice possible from PRACTICAL experience not from a desire to make money!!!

In no way am I taking up for Bill, but when I researched the 6.0 after mine needed egr and oil coolers last year. Bills videos on youtube was some of the first things I found away from FTE. In those videos he sais pretty much what folks on FTE and other forums and sites said. Granted he said some stuff I thought was moronic but his facts seemed to be intact. I've read people attack his statement about water getting into the crank and causeing failure then totally agree when someone else say an egr cooler leaks coolant into the cyclender and it gers past the rings and to the crank and cause failure. What gives? I mean I'm not saying buy his stuff or take what he says as gosple but is there a thread that separates the truth from the false? How is it wrong if one man says it but right if another says it? Again I'm not defending I'm just trying to find facts about my truck. There's to much bs going around as it is. Someone point me in the direction of some good resources and ill do the thread myself. This is getting to be a crock of bs, when you think you came across some info then some where else its rebuted. Is it egos or something. I just want to understand my engine and arm myself to get as much service out of it as I can. Is this to much to ask?

exiled,

You have many valid points. It isn't an exact science for sure. There are LOTS of things on 6.0's that are the same fixes time after time after time. Then you run into one that absolutely throws the whole 6.0 bible into the fire and everyone just goes crazy. It is sometimes hard to know what is right and what is wrong until you actually come to know the "personality" of your own personal vehicle. I wish I had all the answers to your questions but I don't. I do know that all the differences in opinions and the right to express those opinions are what makes this forum and our country great. Keep on reading, studying and asking questions. That's the only way to know for sure.

I understand. I'm forever reading and studing about my 6.0. I get bashed every time I turn around and yea I know why. But I'm one of the few that took it upon myself to learn about. But its so argravating in that there's no stable info. Or at least that's the way it seems to me. When I 1st got my SD it was the info I got here that had me ready when my coolers needed replaced. My truck didn't break down cause of the signs. Coolant "puking". I hold FTE and expecially this 6.0 section in high esteem. I really appreciate yall. I haven't posted in here in a couple yrs but I do search this section almost daily looking for info. I just wish we could weed out bad info and the info that is suspect we could get it ironed out.

I live near Atlanta and am still looking for recommendations of a good place to get my head studs done besides here? It sounds like a good Ford dealer is the place to go.

That is comforting. Talk on the street is that 6.0 is taking them somewhere in a handbasket.

He stated in his videos that Ford Premium Gold coolant was propylene glycol based - this was wrong. He stated that the torqshift tranny used Mercon V fluid - this was wrong. He was really advocating "Prolong" additive for the engine oil - this is WAY old school (and I firmly disagree w/ it for the 6.0L).

That was all it took for me.

Plus.........

It doesn't take but ONE moronic action or statement to cause something expensive to happen with a 6.0.
