I posted this in the Excursion section, but figured I'd throw it up here too to get more focused hits for the V10. I took it in and had a cracked ignition coil and clogged catalytic converter, both replaced out the door just under $400 was happy. Get home, leave to go to the book store and rough idle comes back, loss of power, stuttering pretty badly at idle again. Part of me is thinking a vacuum leak somewhere, RPM's don't fluctuate, just the idle. It idles fine for 2 seconds and drops for a split second, then repeats. Also on acceleration, power appears to cut out for a split second then regain itself, especially on hills. Any idea what I could be looking at? It did throw the CEL, so they'll scan for that and call me with that, just trying to get a figure here.
It's sitting at the shop right now, was just looking for a ballpark as to what could be wrong according to the symptoms. I know with engine issues like this it's a shot in the dark, could be tens of thousands of things, here's hoping that it's something on the less expensive side eh?
It was the #9 coil this time. Last time I took it in they replaced the #8. I'm thinking the water that I went through hit that side and is wiping them out, haha. This weekend I'm changing plugs and boots, will look closely at all the COPs and make sure they look alright. I found some on ebay, all 10 for 90, wondering if they'll be worth it.
