Radiator leak

Radiator leak

Ok I just got a leak in my radiator seems to be comeing from right side of radiator ive been reading these are problems for many users here some like 2-3 replacements any ideas on how to proceed with my dealer i have 60448 miles and its an 08 6.4 im hearing there 1500 to replace?

Proceed by verifying that you have the venturi-T installed and how long ago and what was the mileage.

Secondly may have hyperextended thermostats so that needs to be checked. You can check yourself in you have something that you can monitor eng temp and EGT's.

hummmm engine temps and egts? whats that i get the engine temp but what are the egts? and how do i find the info on the venturi t thing? i bought the truck used was owned by a rental company so how do you look up the info? thanks guys.

Engine temps and EGT's should be checked when the motor is hot, level road get it up to 50-60 mph.

You want to monitor both. If engine temps rise and fall more than a few degrees then those thermostats maybe bad. EGT's can help to identify sticking thermostats.

ok update just presure tested and no leak nothing holding pressure even though we could all see where its leaking from the tank part of the radiator must be the new self fixing kind.

factory installed venturi valve , leak occured at the waterpump(bad o ring) cause truck to overheat to 216 deg. burned up the turbos, have aftermarket intake and exaust, (with dpf) and an edge tuner , all covewred under warranty

Hey Senix , I think you mean Engine Coolant Temps and Engine Oil Temps not Exhaust Gas Temps.

well dam thing still not leaking last night it just stoped so far ill look here at work again this morening to see if it is very strange and hey i was reading here bio diesel bad but im in ill. nothing but bio here what do i do to help it? and anyone have feelings on wix filters its almost time for my first oil and fule filter change.

There is a thread from about 5 days ago on here you need to read. Dude had a wix oil filter and burned up a motor. As of the day the guy sent the message ford was denying the repair cost because of the wix. Be careful
