ok so was comeeing off the off ramp and kicked it a little so i didnt get hit, and truck started makeing this weird zinging noise, the od light started flashing, when you let off the gas it makes the same noise, it dont feel like its sliping and temps are good, was going to do a 5 speed swap but not this soon! can you help guys?
well looks like 5 speed swap will be sooner than later!!! went to a trany shop cod was for converter slipage, he rest it put chip on stock, 5 miles from the house light came back on and started the zinging all over, they said i could put a new converter in 350.00 and woul be ok, dont really wanna spend that with 5 speed swap weeks away, and if i did throw a coverter in whats the cances of more in side the trany being jacked up???
Not a transmission guru, so can't help much. One of the reasons I'm doing a 5-speed swap as soon as I have all the parts together.
lol i hear that! converter is trashed! guy at trany shop said the trany is an ats, i thought it just had an ats pan on it, the guy be 4 me spent money on an ats trany and put a stock converter back in it! what the hell was he smokeing????
I miss having a hand-shaker anyways, plus my parts truck is a 4x4 so I can steal the t-case and everything else and make it 4x4. I really should have waited and bought a truck set up the way I wanted it from the beginning, but got a good deal on this one.
Started as a 2wd auto dually, now a 2wd auto SRW, soon a 4wd 5-speed!

i hear you man!! i wanted a crewcab long bed 5speed, got a short bed auto! lol but she is a bad mother! cant wait 2 get the 5 speed in it, i like your truck man , my 93 is all red with white strip, red and white look good togater!
My dad had a '96 F250 PSD that was Red with the white stripe. Loved how it looked. Mine was white with a blue stripe but the paint was in bad shape, so when I painted the new bed I got for the SRW conversion I decided to go with red. Love it!
Really like the all black trucks like yours too. They look mean.
So when you get your Stage III's (you know you want them) I think you should send that D66 my way. haha

lol yeah i do but i think iam going stage II, i would like 400, to 450 hp, 500 would be bad @ss, but i drive her every day, going stage II or II.5 not sure yet i sent jim a massage, my d66 hmmm i love that thing man!! lol you need to look on ebay put in stage III turbo thats the one my buddy has its just like myn but ported and pollished, and 300 cheaper and no core, he has just as much as me maybe a little more. beans said iam around 350 360, but have not dyno her yet
Look into the hybrids man, less oil to run them, and they'll run with lower tunes really well for towing and lots of power when you put bigger tunes on and when you can upgrade your fuel and turbo

will do, i wanna do fuel up grades but turbo is as good as its going 2 get i think, the h2 would be sweet but steave at beans said he wishs he had the d66
If you want to stick with the D66 then go with II's.
If you want to eventually upgrade your turbo I'd look into the T4 mount kit, check out the thread Murff Racing T4 Mount that Travis put up. The mount kit is cheaper and turbos for that are cheaper than the H2E stuff.
I'm torn with mine. Originally I was planning on II's and a D66 or QSSB from Wide Open Performance. I still like the sound of the QSSB, you can put down about 450hp with those and the right injectors.
Or I can go wild and get the T4 mount and hybrids...

Hi Evan,
Mind my asking how much you got the donor for? want to convert to a Manual but am also looking for a complete A/C system and some bucket seats with center console. Have the bench now, but is very uncomfortable on any trip longer than 2+ hrs

I picked up my '88 for $500. Didn't run but was complete. I was planning on making it into a offroad toy. Then I joined the Marine Corps, bought my '95 2 years ago, and now gonna steal parts from it to convert mine when I go back home in a few months.
I might use the engine and body for a offroad toy still, probably put a C6 in it though.
