My engine or trans is making a nose that sounds sorta like a pot that is engaged I took the belt off and still makes the noise
The noise goes away at 1200 rpm and has got louder in the last day just started yesterday
Any ideas?
It's a noise that sounds like a pot engaged it goes away at 1200 rpm it's not an asseory off the belt and it's not the down pipe truck runs good shifts good
5 speed transmission? If so and you have a single mass flywheel, gear rollover from the transmission. If it's a 5 speed with the stock dual mass flywheel, it's probably ready to grenade. If it's an auto, not sure what to tell you. lol
I've checked all the simple things I can think of trans inspection cover the down pipe the truck shows 342k miles I hope it ain't a wrist pin or rod or bearing
As far as the fuel filter lid, how high fuel pressure you have? I've heard of that with higher pressures (around 75 or a little more). It's gonna be really hard to guess at that noise without a video for me. If the noise goes away with rpms, you can bet its not internal like you're worrying about. It would get worse in that case.
I can make a video put have no clue on how to post it
I even hooked a 12000 lbs trailer to it today and it the noise just goes awAy at 1300 rpm or so
Ive head it at 3000 rpm and no noise but at idle it's horrible

Do you have the stock DP or a good DP, it could be loose or touching the firewall just a guess.
