beadblasting - bad for gasket surface?

Some mechanics at work say bead blasting the gasket surfaces of my cast iron heads may not be a good idea. I don't plan on any machining after I bead blast them. Ever heard of that or had any problems with gaskets mated to a rough surface?

not really. Are you going to use some thing to hold the gasket in place cuz it may help it stay in place better. But if i were you just clean it off by hand an put them in a hot tank an that should clean them up real good an not ruff it up. I makes me think of taking a screwdriver to my table saw top it would mess it up.

Glass beads won't hurt it.
