ipod shuffle sync problem

ipod shuffle sync problem
I have a 2011 F350 with the factory radio and sync system. I can't seem to get my ipod shuffle to work. I connect to the usb port the radio looks for the device but doesn't recognize it. Anybody out there doing this and if so could you walk me through the process of making the connection. I tried it with the shuffle turned on no luck then off no lick.

I don't think the Shuffle is supported by Sync.
