Ignition switch?

Does anyone know what to do to the ignition switch so that I can take the key out while the truck is running? I want to be able to do this so that I can leave the truck running and still be able to lock the doors to go into a store. Thanks in advance.

I have not read anything on this.I did have a friend that broke the body of a key off in the ignition. You could not tell it was there. He could still start the truck and used his spare key for un-locking the doors.

A turbo timer should work, or something along those lines. You could also turn off the truck and then use a remote start.

the reason behind taking the key out with the truck running is becuase the cylinder is so worn out.. i let my friend drive my truck last night and.. she broke my damn cylinder, now i can pull the key out.. which i hate!

Why can't you just carry a spare key with you? Leave one in the ignition and let yourself back in with the other one?
