Hey all got a 93 F 150 and the wipers are moving slow at all ranges only interment changes when I turn them up but same speed and there a is a loud motor noise with it. Just replaced the motor and the problem is still here. Is it the switch behind the glove compartment? I looked at it I see 2 a big one right by the vents in front and a small kinda hidden next to that one a touch smaller anyone know which one it is? thanks guys.
Yeah the intervals are where they should be like on the highest it still moves where it should just slowly and makes like a groaning noise. I think I am going to go to the junk yard and get a new interval switch. If thats not the bigger one then it must be the smaller one behind the glove compartment kinda stashed into the dash a little bit.
clean the contacts in the switch first. I spent hours taking the wiper control module apart and testing all of the circuits and diodes. I had no power at the motor. Thought for sure it was the module but decided to clean the switch, more out of frustration than anything. Guess what, after cleaning I now had power at the motor. Motor was frozen so I had to get a new one. However, the rebuilt motor is much cheaper than a replacement module. Give it a try, you might end up lucky like me.
You wouldnt be able to tell me where that is would you according to the chiltons its behind the insturment cluster but I cant seem to find it also I have no clue what I am looking for. Haynes says its behind the glove box.
Open your glove box. Squeeze the sides so you can open it further and let the door hang. Straight on you should see the ABS module. Look to the right kind of tucked up in the corner. That box about the size of a pack of smokes is the wiper control module. However, clean the switch on the stalk first. That could be the problem.
I think it is I did that originally and saw it then didnt do anything cuz I read the haynes and it said it was behind the insturment cluster. But I think this is the box, thank you.
