Window Wipers

Happy Thanksgiving to all! On my 83 f150 4x4 5.7l pickup, i've just replaced the window wiper motor. Typically I'd turn it on, then off and the wipers would finish the cycle. For some reason, when I now turn off the wipers, they stop moving in the middle of the window. Unless I turn them off in their starting position. Is there a relay or do I have a problem elsewhere?

Swap the old motor back and see if the problem follows the "new" motor. IIRC the Park position stuff is in the motor itself.
