Usually in the morning, I'll be driving along and my truck will have a random miss, it feels like I totally loose power for a split second, I see smoke coming out of my exhaust whenever it misses like that, but I have never been able to tell what color the smoke was. Mostly this happens in the morning, today the truck was fully warmed up when it happened, it missed like 8 or 9 times and than ran fine.

 

Those are the very same symtoms that I had with my 94 IDI non turbo for about a year every once in awhile it would miss just a few times and then would be fine I am thinking it was a sticky valve and thats wat failed the other day wen the eng went south in a big white smoky way uptill then it did not burn any oil so I thought it was in good shape and the miss was related to a injector I was wrong

 

Any burnt pins on the vc harnesses?

 

I didn't see any burnt pins, i'll check again to make sure tommorow. I hope its not and injector, there so expensive

 

Well i determined its not really a miss, it feels like when i am driving the key is just shut of and then quickly turned back on. The smoke is more of white/ blue color hard to tell but definantly lighter color.

 

Have you changed the cps? They've been known to do some weird things. I'd do that, get one from the dealer or ih. It's cheap and should have a spare anyway.

 

Yea i changed it about a month ago, it was doing the same dieing thing before and after i changed it
