Motoer goes back in tomorrow(finally!), and I want to make sure I have room for the downpipe. anyone have a picture or two of where I need to clearance firewall?
thank you, C
sorry no pic here
but i just used a 3 pound hammer on the seam where there were 2 rivets that held the heat shield on.if your trans is out makes it easy if not as mine was i just pulled it over with a strap to the frame.any way thats where i seen it needed it from running it before made it have alot more room.and if you have time this is what i did to mine.where the front tranny line comes out of the trans i put a 1/4" pipe 90 degree fitting there as mine was sitting right on top of the line when i pulled it and made a new line seams to have lowered trans temps a little from what i've drove it.
good luck john
I just finished pulling my 3" down pipe back off today, after a couple of days of the first install it started making a noise like a howling banshee. I did crimp over the cab seam, but not enough. I had to use a porta power to push the firewall in at the seam and right behind the first curve of the pipe about 8" down from the top of the fire wall. Now, it's nice and quiet....well relatively speaking, but sounds good now. Not, like SAW4 under the hood.
If you look at the top of the down pipe about 6-8" down and again in a 6" wide area at the cab seam.
