overhead console compas/thermometer not working
Hi all !
Just bought an 03' F-150, FX-4 and this is the only thing not working, was wondering if anyone can direct me as to where to start looking for the fix or what should I expect.
The previous owner said he had a trailer light problem and it hasn't worked since. This has the factory tow package and wiring connections and the fuse panel checked out o'k.

I believe these have been know to have a solder joints on the circuit board go bad, you can try to pull it and check them out, but it might be easier to just pull one out of a junk yard. Or you can have it rebuilt from an outfit such as one shown here:

It was mentioned that the screen is a possible problem also, do yo know anything about this ? and if so how would you determine what is the problem ?
I'm more interested in the compass, my wife lets me know when it's cold out. I really appreciate any and all input on the matter.
