Hi all! I just joined this thread to see if any of you Ford enthusiasts can help me identify a problem.
My son has a '93 F150 with auto trans and V8. I haven't confirmed the actual tran type but will if I need to.
Like the title says, there is a tapping noise coming from inside the transmission on the drivers side. I've listened everywhere with my stethescope and it is loudest on the drivers side near the front about midway up. I'm thinking of several things it could be but my knowledge of the internal workings of an auto is severely limited.
Years ago the converter to flex plate bolts came loose producing some clicking on my 83 F150 AOD. They are located under the front cover.
regards
rikard
