Has anyone been able to remove this ring or at least know how to remove it?
On a regular basis, the sun hits this chrome ring and reflects directly into my eyes. I want to remove them, sand them down and paint them an interior color to stop the reflections... any help would be appreciated.
I haven't get but looking in the service manual for my 2010 it appears you need to remove the dash panels and press in clips that retain the bezel. That is on my very short to do list, I hate those things. I'll be pulling mine and painting them right off.
I wear sunglasses when I'm driving into the sun but this is usually at the end of the day, driving away from it. The sunglasses don't help forward visibility as the sun is setting behind you and that's when the rings get me. Good answer though...

Now that's a good thought... I might just try that. It's a hell of a lot easier than ripping that dash apart! Thank you...
if it is not just plastic chrome, steel wool is used to polish chrome, like the bumpers and grille. I would pull the dash panel and refinish them. Maybe they can be swapped for XL trim... I dont know what a XL has though.
