Ok I have a 2000 7.3 the truck has 214,000 miles. It has a bully dog gt, filter mod, 4" down pipe with 5" back, fuel bowl plunger deleted, new batteries, new passanger uvch, new cps, used idm and ecm they both came out of a 01 7.3 that's all what the truck is doing is once it hits 4 th gear the truck falls on its face and just has no power. I have put the same tuner on a friends same year truck he only has a 4" Turbo back and on take off it blows 10x the amount of smoke mine does I have to floor it and all I get is a little puff. I have no clue what's up with my truck. Any ideas?
Is it RPM related? some thing else to look at is fuel pressure. Is it constant through out the RPM range. Also fuel restriction in the tank. plugged screens in the tank can cause this. install vaccum guage between the tank and the pump, should see no more than 5 lbs of VACCUM at idle. any more and you have clogged screens. do a search for Hutch and Harpoon mods on this sight. Something else that can cause loss of power at upper RPM is low HPOP pressure. You need someone with a good scanner to read this.
If I floor the truck its like as soon as it hits 3rd it losses all power. And in 5th the truck sounds and feels as if it is only running on 6 cyl you have to all most floor it to get the power back when you wanna get moving. I've thought fuel pressure but it doesn't do it on my buddy's truck
Man you are making my head hurt, LOL. I would check everything Barney suggested as well as hooking up a fuel gauge to the back of your fuel bowl. And also check your EBPV tube and sensor if my mind is still with me I think it has something to do with fueling and if the tube is pluged it dont work right.

Have you checked your Drivers side UVCH? And recheck your pass UVCH these plugs like to come unpluged.

It's not "your buddies truck" with the problem. If both trucks acted this way it would be common to the electronics you are swapping back and forth. the problem doesn't move with the tuner, so it how your friends truck runs is not an issue. you need to check fuel pressure and restriction on on YOUR truck. My bet is its running out of fuel. can't make smoke without fuel.
