RASS"N"FRASSIN' , SHIMMY SHOPE , GRUMBLE AND GROWL !!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW DARE YOU POST A PIC OF A NICE 53 AND MAKE ME ENVIOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! makes me wish i could find the energy to get mine together again ......................
I always have mixed feeling looking at pictures like this. The first thought is man what a beautiful truck and I can't wait for mine to get further along. Then the depression sets in about how far out I am from getting there.
But of course have the fun is getting these beauties back up and rolling.
You know I often think something is wrong with me when I see pictures like these in magazines with a beautiful model standing in front of them. I generally think, man that chick is blocking my view....
Thanks for all the kind comments. I started with a beautiful red truck, already converted to 12V, and only in need of a brake job to certify. But no,,, I had to do the complete strip down and slowly rebuild. I am now just passed 6 years working on this, so you guys, don't get down about your own progress. As far as the bezel goes, it's a stock grey painted unit that I sanded with # 500, # 1000 and buffed with white compound. I sprayed it 3 times with a rattle can clear coat and I think it turned out good. (there is Good, and there is Good enough!). I have this project at my office/shop and don't get to do alot at a time, mostly a few hrs after work once or twice a week. Cheers.
