i have a edge programmer, when i watch the data stream with the truck running it tells me the exhuast backpressure is 16 psi. naturally when i rev the engine up the backpressure goes psi goes. my question is, what normal psi and at what point is too much psi. i dont have any exhaust mods, but im thinking of hollowing out my cat and deleteing the muffler.
i cant tell you the tech specs on the back pressure but i know straight piping the exhaust will help flow, 4" sounds BA if your interested. if its stock then it cant hurt!

When first starting my truck (cold) my back pressure is at 14 PSI, then when the EBPV (ehasust back pressure valve) closes during PCM tests it goes to 16 - 17 PSI then back to 14 PSI within about 5 seconds (valve closes the opens). These numbers are at idle only.
Also when you get your back pressure numbers. the sensor measures absolute pressure so at idle with you see 14 psi. its really 0 psi back pressure and 14 psi atmospheric pressure.
