So I'm driving home last night and as I go around an exit ramp I look down and I'm going 85mph!!! It caught me off guard which caused me to lift......I quickly realized I was not going near that fast.
I checked my speed on my GPS and my speedometer was exactly 30mph faster. What gives?!?!?!?
This morning it was a little better. At a dead stop, it's sitting on 20mph.
This has happened to others before. It is a problem in the instrument cluster.
Very often if you reset the HEC it will correct itself. To reset it, unhook the batteries and turn on the headlights for about 30 minutes. This will drain all the capacitors that keep active memory alive and reset all of the computers.
The other thing you can do is just leave it alone. Often it will correct itself on it's own after awhile.
